Development Office

Dear St. Elizabeth Family,

Winter and spring 2011 have been full of joy for Saint Elizabeth High School students, past, present and future.  After much research and planning, the Office of Alumni and Development initiated an Enhanced Annual Fund to support the increased enrollment response to Flexible Tuition.  I am happy to say that the EAF is going very well.  We anticipate a ten percent increase in enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year over this year, and we are committed to supporting those students, just as parishes and families supported S.E.H. students in the past.

Our alumni remember their ability to attend the high school for ten or twenty dollars per month, due to the generosity of the Franciscan Friars and the Dominican Sisters.  If you are one of us, please know that your classmates are continuing to make sacrificial giving a priority, in order to make a St. Elizabeth quality Catholic education available to the Fruitvale district and beyond.

While we are raising the money,  we are having fun.  The annual Mass and Brunch was very well attended. (Go Class of 1950!)  The Crab Feed and Auction saw vigorous bidding for live and silent auction items, and enthusiastic support of Fund-a-Need for our Resource and Technology programs.  We saw many of you at our All-Class Reunion on Saturday, April 9, when Art Panella was honored as Distinguished Grad and Arleen Maginnis as Honorary Grad.  Their speeches were not to be missed!

One of our proudest moments was the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award ceremony on March 23rd, when Barbara Bauder Cuvelier ’60 was given this prestigious award by the Most Reverend Salvatore J. Cordileone, Bishop of Oakland, and Sister Barbara Bray, SNJM, Superintendent of Schools.  It was an awesome sight to see so many Saint Elizabeth High School alumni celebrating Barbara, and celebrating the special place S.E.H. has in their lives.

In the SEH News, you will receive the first envelope of the 2011-12 Annual Fund.  This year is our 90th Anniversary!  We are so grateful for your contributions which have helped us to get this far.  If you can, please send St. Elizabeth a contribution to support Flexible Tuition.  By doing so, you will pay your St. Elizabeth connection forward into the future.

Special blessings to you,

Work and live to serve others, to leave the world a little better than when you found it, and garner for yourself as much peace of mind as you can.  This is happiness.
