Clatter Magazine

Saint Elizabeth High School is proud of its student literary magazine, Clatter, produced once a year under the direction of Mr. Michael Schooler, Chair of the English Department.  The Clatter is a school-wide collection of art, essays, short stories, poetry, and photographs composed by the students at Saint Elizabeth High School.

The student writing and art reflects the values that a Saint Elizabeth High School education has instilled in our young people -- hope and love, and the always mysterious, revitalizing, saving presence of God in our life.  Teachers encourage students and help them prepare their entries for the May publication of the magazine.

Funding assistance for this important project is provided by The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose Foundation.  The Clatter received the First Place Award from the American Scholastic Press Association three years in a row in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

1. A rattling sound: The clatter of the fingers pounding the keyboard filled the girl's room as the poem came to life.
2. Commotion: A great clatter arose when the gymnasium doors opened, revealing a momentary world of art and poetry.
3. Noisy chatter: One by one the brave souls took the stage, releasing the pent up clatter of their minds.
