Counseling

Academic Counseling

Academic Counselors monitor the academic progress of students from year to year and provide guidance for course selection, graduation requirements, learning disability and tutoring support, summer school, and accelerated program enrollment.

College Counseling

The college counselor helps students to articulate realistic goals and advises families through the college selection, application, and enrollment process. Career information, college visits, college comparison resources, scholarships and financial aid for college are all offered through the college counseling office.

Standardized Testing

Counseling Department administers and assists with interpretation of standardized testing for students each year. Test administered annually are the High School Placement Test (Prospective Freshmen), Explore ACT (Current Freshmen), PLAN Preparation for the ACT (Sophomores), PSAT Preparation for the SAT (Juniors).  All juniors and seniors are assisted with preparation and registration for the ACT with writing and the SAT.

Personal Counseling

Counselors are available to provide individual counseling on matters of a personal nature.  Through the Youth Empowerment System (YES) team, selected students are trained to help with peer conflict resolution as a service to the whole school community. The campus ministry program offers pastoral, moral and spiritual support.
