Message from the College CounselorSeptember 2011
Greetings, Seniors and Parents:
The strenuous work for college application is about to begin. In the coming days, seniors will be receiving information regarding the college application process -- from registering for the October ACT or SAT to responding to college acceptance letters. Parents, please ask your student to share this information with you.
In the next few weeks, seniors should:
(1) Sign up with a CSU Mentor (if they will apply to Cal State Universities)
(2) Get a binder to file important documents
(3) Narrow their college options based on school requirements, location, major, and size
(4) Look for scholarships; and
(5) Establish a permanent e-mail address to use only for college communication.
Greetings, Juniors and Parents:
In the next few weeks, I will be sharing information with the juniors which will guide them on their road to college during their junior year. In addition to continuing to monitor their academic progress and taking the SAT and ACT in May or June, juniors should seriously establish their college criteria and begin examining their college options. Specific consideration should be given to your college criteria and college options (see right panel on this page).
Seniors and Juniors:
Listen attentively to announcements concerning upcoming events and visits from college representatives. I will be publishing vital information in future newsletters -- it is extremely important that you read the newsletter.
Please see additional information on SAT and ACT.
